Alan Kulwicki Memorial Park is a 28-acre green space in Greenfield, Wisconsin, dedicated to the memory of NASCAR champion Alan Kulwicki—a hometown hero whose independent spirit continues to inspire. Opened on June 6, 1998, the park was created through community donations and support from Milwaukee County, including a major $250,000 contribution from Robert H. Brooks, founder of Hooters, who helped make the pavilion a reality.
Born and raised in Greenfield, Alan Kulwicki was known as “The Underbird” for his perseverance as an independent driver and team owner. He won the 1992 NASCAR Winston Cup Championship—an incredible achievement for a one-car team. Alan tragically passed away in a plane crash on April 1, 1993, but his legacy of hard work, humility, and determination lives on through this park and the people it serves.
