The Greater Greenfield Lions Club sponsors the Greenfield Junior Miss Scholarship Program.  The 2008 Greenfield Junior Miss Program was open to young women who are members of the Class of 2008.  Participants must be residents of the City of Greenfield, despite their high school.

The 2008 Greenfield Junior Miss is Becky Rupel, a senior at Whitnall High School.  Becky earned a $1600 scholarship to the school of her choice from participating in the Greenfield Junior Miss Program.  As Junior Miss, Becky will travel to the Wisconsin Junior Miss program in November and and have an opportunity to earn additional scholarships.  Becky participates in service events and will speak at various civic group meetings and participate in Junior Miss events for the next year.  Other scholarship award recipients in the 2007 Junior Miss program included Brittney Dancs ($1250) and Jessica Pucylowski ($700).

The Junior Miss Program is not a beauty pageant.  Judging is based upon scholastics (20%), interview (25%), poise (15%), talent (25%), and fitness (15%).  Scholastic judging is based upon academic records, test scores, and awards.  Interviews are conducted with a five-member panel.  The participants perform a 90-second talent presentation.  The poise category evaluates how the young women carry themselves and answer impromptu questions.  A choreographed aerobic fitness routine rounds out the judging.

The 2009 Greenfield Junior Miss Program is scheduled for late June of 2008 at the Greenfield High School auditorium.  For further information about the Junior Miss Scholarship Program or if you are interested in being a sponsor, please contact Program Chair Anna Kettlewell at 414-545-5514, email: honeyqueen99@hotmail.comClick here for more information on participation in the 2008 program.
